gpalift is a free GPA calculator that takes its job seriously. The other tools are generic (calculator.net), bolted onto registrar pages from 2014, or stapled to a subscription. None get AMCAS right. Most get UC capped wrong. Almost all upsell you to a monthly fee.
We built gpalift to be the opposite. Free forever for the core calculator. $19 once for save, sync, and the features that save time. No subscription.
Who edits this site
Taylor Annandersis the editor at gpalift. Every calculator rule on this site is checked against the registrar or agency document it claims to follow (AAMC, LSAC, AACOMAS, TMDSAS, UC, ECE, WES) before it ships. Citations on each page link back to the document version Taylor verified. Rule changes get rechecked quarterly and the "Last verified" line above the H1 on every article reflects that.
What we won't do
- Run ads on calculator pages.
- Sell your transcript data.
- Force you into a subscription.
- Hide refund options.
- Pretend AMCAS is simple when it isn't.
What we will do
- Cite every rule with a link to the official source.
- Open-source the BCPM classifier so anyone can verify our claims.
- Fix bugs within 7 days of report (4-hour SLA on user-impacting issues).
- Refund within 30 days, no questions, one click.
How accuracy gets verified
Three things have to pass before any calculator page goes live: the number it returns matches an AAMC, LSAC, UC, AACOMAS, or TMDSAS sample calculation (or the registrar-published example for a single-school page); the rule statement on the page is quoted or paraphrased from that same source with the URL visible in the Sources section; and a one-line review note lands in the changelog commit. The methodology page shows which engine module powers each page and links the file path on GitHub.
